Teresa and Julia explore the reach of the word – its echoes and vibrations when written, carved, or drawn. A library of material thoughts emerges in the space between hand and matter – between language and object – solids and intangibles. In the in-between lingers the force that moves our hands across the surface as we write and the breath that carries a word – a name – an incantation into the room. Dwelling in this metaphorical space, the artist’s work knows no sentences and returns to the written word as a particle – an ambiguous state where a plurality of understandings can coexist.
